Installing Cash Discount on Poynt Smart Terminal™
Cash Discount for Poynt Smart Terminal™ makes it easy for merchants to set up and offer cash discount. Click below on the Quickstart Guide for step by step instructions!
Requirements, Restrictions & Support
- The Cash Discount app is only available thru the Poynt app store
- The Cash Discount app is compatible with the Poynt Smart Terminal™ and Poynt 5™
- Merchants must have a merchant account which allows cash discount processing
- Support is provided through our support ticket system
- Current app version: 1.0.21 Last Updated June 2019
Step One
Downloading and installing the app
- On your Poynt Smart Terminal™ locate and click the “Apps” icon which will open the app store
- Locate “CashDiscount” and select ‘Subscribe’
- Use our QuickStart Guide to be assisted through the setting up your subscription
Step Two
Configuring Cash Discount
- Open the Cash Discount application
- During the initial set up, you will be prompted to create a new cash discount
- Tap “Add Cash Discount”
- Name your Cash Discount setting (i.e. CashDiscount 3.75%)
- Select/edit any additional options you wish to apply to this discount
- Make sure the discount option is toggled “On”
- Set your parameters for the purchase. Set ‘PAYMENT MODE’ to ‘CARD’. Discount type can be 1 of 3 options: percentage, fixed dollar amount, or both
- Revise your preferences to be sure the Cash Discount is how you want it. Select ‘DONE’
- Select ‘UPDATE’
Step Three
Using the Cash Discount register
- Open the Cash Discount application
- Add an item or items to the register
- If select cash payment, the cash price will show
- If charge is selected, the Cash Discount your set up previously will be applied
Editing Cash Discounts
- While the Cash Discount register is open, select the menu icon in the top left
- Select View Cash Discount
- You will be take back to the original cash discount you set up
